About African Union Region Six

Purpose

The purpose of the organisation is to achieve greater unity and solidarity amongst the peoples of Africa by coordinating and consolidating the Diaspora, thereby facilitating the engagement between the African Union and its peoples of African descent within the Sixth Region of the Union.

Mission

To realize this Purpose the organisation will:

  1. Participate in the establishment of African Diaspora constituencies and further facilitate the collective engagement of the various constituencies of the African Diaspora as established by the African Union Representational Mission to the USA.
  2. Host conferences and act as a primary venue for both African leaders and Diaspora civil society to convene with each other.
  3. Support the creation and implementation of Diaspora focused initiatives that will further augment and advance the achievement of the “Aspirations” of the AU Agenda 2063.
  4. Engage in the proactive and concerted mobilization of the Diaspora.
  5. Promote the protection of the African Diaspora and the right of the Organisation to seek intervention from the Union pursuant to a decision by the General Conference in respect of grave circumstances, namely: war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity.

Over 18 year career ranging from engineering management to becoming an international strategist in business development trailblazer in various industries,; IT, Telecom, Energy, Real Estates, Trading, mining, and financial solutions. Has acquired extensive cross-functional experiences from project management, program management, asset-contract management to portfolio management. Volunteered and taken leading positions in various Not-for profit and professional organizations such as Global SEAT SA(President), ProductCamp Austin (sustainability Chair), Congolese Community of Charlotte (VP), NSPE (VP) and IEEE (member). A motivator of the motivated people especially the youths who need guidance and growth.

Biography:

Kliphord Darkwa over the last 20 years has run a consulting practice as Business Consultant dealing with business strategic planning including, restructuring, business development, financial and tax compliance, estate and asset protection planning and related issues for many small and medium-size companies. Also consulted in financial products and investments in mutual funds, retirement, college funds for Individuals, Self Employed, Partnerships and Corporations. He also represents clients in complex Federal and State tax matters as part of his practice.

Kliphord has previous experience as Assistant Economic Development Director with USA SBA loan program and administration of EDA funding projects. As a multiple business owner, he engages in planning for both profit and non-profit organizations. He has equally been involved in outsourcing projects, operations management, corporate branding, where many of these disciplines involved heavy sales and marketing strategies for various basis.

Kliphord’s representation of nonprofits and tax-exempt organizations involves creating such entities (trusts and nonprofit corporations as both private foundations and public charities), preparing applications for tax-exempt status, representing nonprofits and tax-exempt organizations before the IRS and state taxing authorities, and advising nonprofits and tax-exempt organizations on issues unique to such organizations.

Kliphord Darkwa has also been an educator, where he has been an Adjunct Lecturer with Valley View University in Ghana and Dallas Community College in Texas. He is passionate about educating both young and adults and made a positive contribution to his community.
