Experience Summary:

• Over 20 years of experience in the Information Technology field leading major initiatives in government and corporate sectors that include fortune 100 companies like Target and Medtronic
• Currently a Strategist and a Distinguished IT Advisor within Medtronic Global IT organization for the Digital Transformation strategy
• Currently providing strategic and technical leadership in Medtronic’s Global Health Innovation Program to develop a Technology-Enabled Hypertension Management Model of Care for Underserved Patients in Africa
• Currently chairman for the Medtronic Africa Focus Team (MAFT) that is appointed to be a trusted resource on African markets for Medtronic in support of our global growth imperatives, by leveraging Medtronic employees as well as external Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) with experience and knowledge of Africa
• Currently serving on the leadership team for the Medtronic sponsored annual Africa Health Innovation Competition (AHIC)
• Able to leverage diplomacy coupled with strong business and technical acumen to establish IT visions and meet challenging business goals and objectives
• Proven track record in driving business, technical, infrastructure and architecture solutions to support multiple business capabilities in large organizations
• An advocate for literacy with deep passion for how technology innovations enable access to quality education for students in under-served schools and communities worldwide
• Born and raised in Oromia, Ethiopia, educated in Nairobi, Kenya and the US
